Prevent Pilling

Prevent Pilling

Pilling is a common issue, especially with soft or blended fabrics like recycled wool. It happens when fibers break and form small balls on the surface due to friction during regular wear or washing. While pilling doesn't mean your garment is poor quality, it can affect its appearance over time.

To prevent pilling:

  • Turn garments inside out before washing.

  • Use a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent.

  • Avoid overloading the machine to reduce friction.

  • Wash similar fabrics together.

  • Air dry or use a low-heat setting.

If pilling does occur, don’t worry—it can be easily managed. For recycled wool and similar materials, use a fabric shaver or sweater comb to gently remove pills without damaging the fabric.

With proper care, your garments will look better and last longer.
